John and Lynn's Garden Party 9 July 2011 

The garden party was a great success with the money raised totaling over £540.

But it was not all about raising money, it was equally about social interaction and having fun. Even the weather played ball letting us off with the briefest of showers but otherwise it was mostly warm and sunny, as the photos below indicate.

I have lost count but I believe that this was the seventh consecutive garden party held at Poplar Rise. John and Lynn have done us proud on each and every occasion and via this page we want to say

"Thank you very much".

They would be the first to acknowledge that even with their energy and enthusiasm they would not have been able to do it all, each year, without a devoted and loyal group of people who help to erect the awnings and gazebos, prepare and serve the food, provide equipment and goods and man the various stalls and events. Even Father Christmas made an appearance one year!
